About Autism Oxford UK

Autism Oxford UK

At Autism Oxford UK we work as a blended team of Peer Support Practitioners, (Autistic/Neurodivergent individuals, expert family members), Nurses, Speech and Language Therapists (SLT), Occupational Therapists (OT’s) and Autism Practitioners. We blend lived experience with academic and clinical evidence-based experience in all parts of our service.

Having people with a range of lived experience in the team is key to the blended approach we adopt; this is paramount in understanding the needs of our service users and has been instrumental in the co-production and co-delivery of this training.

We fully understand the benefits and strengths brought to the high-quality service we provide through the direct employment of lived experienced colleagues at all levels in our business. Together they bring an additional, welcome and powerful dimension by sharing their real time experience and knowledge, allowing the team to view the world through the lived experience lens.

Our team has extensive experience in co-producing and co-delivering training, assessments and clinical support across Mental Health, Acute, Physical Health and other health services. Our experience also extends to Law Enforcement, Education, Adult Forensic settings, Children and Adolescent Mental Health services (CAMHs) amongst other settings
